Eligibility Requirements

  • The Achieve Anything Foundation defines as girls & women any persons that identify as female, including transgender. This definition applies to any reference of girls, women and/or females. To be eligible to apply for Operation: This IS You! events, the applicant must identify as female
  • A Lower age limit may be applicable to some events, please refer to specific event details before applying
  • Signed Guardian consent rquired for those under the age of 19, a signed waiver is also applicable to everyone
  • Government issued photo identification may be required, please refer to specific event details before applying

Day Sail on a Warship

LOCATION: Vancouver, BC
Saturday, January 27, 2018 - 0900-1600

Restrictions: Minimum Age - 12 Years

Activities include tours of ship duty stations, crew quarters and operational equipment; RCAF joint search and rescue demonstration, ship firefighting simulation, and demonstration of the warship’s impressive manoeuvring capabilities. Lunch will be provided.

Canadian Coast Guard / Fisheries & Oceans Canada - SAR & Science at Sea

LOCATION: Vancouver Island - Institute of Ocean Science

Hands-on activities will include elements from Coast Gaurd Search & Rescue, Canadian Hydrographic Service, Marine Communications & Traffic Services, Electronics, Marine Engineering, Science and a tour of CCGS Gordon Reid.

Search & Rescue with Canadian Coast Guard

LOCATION: Richmond - Sea Island Hovercraft Base
March 31, 2018 - 0900-1600

Restrictions: Minimum Age - 14 Years

Activities include tours of base duty stations, an interactive search & rescue exercise, dive demonstration, educational games, firehose challenge, drive the zodiac rescue craft and a ride to sea in the hovercraft.

Tactical day with Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services

LOCATION: Vancouver, BC
Saturday, May 12, 2018 - 0900-1600

Restrictions: Minimum Age - 16 Years

Activities include hazardous materials decontamination, extrication from an automobile, live fire, technical rescue - rappel from burn tower, heavy urban search and rescue drill. Lunch will be provided.

IMPORTANT: Please read carefully before applying

The person wishing to attend an event must apply on their own behalf, and must answer the questions in their own words, to the best of their ability. You may not apply on behalf of someone else.

A completed application does not assure acceptance to an event. The selection process for each event varies depending on the quality of information provided, number of applicants, available space, nature of the event and other operational factors.

The information you provide us is protected once completed, and will not be shared with anyone outside of the Achieve Anything Foundation or agency partner hosting the event without your prior consent.

You may apply to only one event at a time. If your application to the event you selected is not accepted, you will then become eligible to apply for other events.

The selection process will generally be completed two weeks prior to the event date, and selected candidates notified by email. Those selected must RSVP to the inviation by the date specified or their space will be offered to another candidate.

Events may be postponed or cancelled at any time due to circumstances outside of our control.
